1994 20¢ Old Glory
“G” Rate Change Postcard Stamp

Issue Date: December 13, 1994
City: Washington, DC
Quantity: 354, 000,000
Printed By: Bureau of Engraving and Printing
 Printing Method: Photogravure
Perforations: 11.2 X 11.1
Color: Black “G,” yellow and multicolored

This 20¢ postcard stamp was issued because of a postal rate change that was scheduled to take effect on January 1, 1995. The yellow background makes it easy to distinguish from the first-class rate stamp with white background. The black “G” on the stamp indicates it was printed by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing.

The United States Postal Service started selling the G rate stamps on December 13, 1994. This series was produced by more printers and in formats than any previous rate change stamps.
