Boyd's City Express post was created by John T. Boyd on June 17, 1844. Their service was negotiated to handle local delivery mail for Pomeroy, Letter Express, Brooklyn City Express Post, Staten Island Express Post, and others. In 1860, Boyd's was run for a short time by John T. Boyd Jr., before being service was temporarily suspended for six months. Boyd's City Express was bought by William and Mary Blackham and began operating again on December 24, 1860.
