The ring-necked pheasant is featured on three 20¢ self-adhesive stamps. Originally found in Central Asia, the Romans brought these birds to Europe about 2,000 years ago. They are now common in North America as well. The ring-necked pheasant is featured in two 1998 self-adhesive formats, convertible booklet and coil, and in a 1999 self-adhesive booklet version. The 1999 ten-stamp pane features a stamp at the top and bottom facing toward the bottom of the pane. All other stamps are positioned normally, with the pheasant facing left. On the 1998 version all stamps faced left.
