Special design details: The selvage of the pane of 20 includes a painting of trees along a bank with a body of water and a canoe with a man holding an oar.

First Day City: Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the First Day of Issue Ceremony was held virtually on the USPS’s Facebook and Twitter pages. The First Day of Issue Postmark was from Incline Valley, Nevada, located on the north shore of Lake Tahoe and known for its ample opportunities for outdoor activities.

About the Enjoy the Great Outdoors set: Issued to celebrate America’s natural beauty and the many ways we can get out and enjoy it. Five stamps picturing different hand-sketched and painted designs by artist Gregory Manchess. They picture building a sandcastle, hiking, cross-country skiing, canoeing, and biking.

History the stamp represents: While many outdoor activities are performed in just one or two seasons, hiking can be done anytime throughout the year. And there are many different levels of hiking, so anyone can enjoy it.

One of the best things about hiking is that it requires very little equipment to get started. In fact, most people can start with just a good pair of hiking shoes and a water bottle. That’s all you ned to go on a short hike lasting only an hour or two. As time goes on and you want to go on longer hikes lasting a full day or more, there are more items you will need, such as a backpack and camping gear.

There are many national parks to hike in, but one of the best areas to hike in is Adirondack Park in northern New York State. Many people visit the park to enjoy the stunning natural beauty of the mountains, lakes, and forests. There are plenty of hiking trails for beginners, but there is also a set for serious hikers. These trails are called the 46 High Peaks and are intense hikes up some of the highest mountains in the Adirondacks. Hikers who complete all these trails earn the title “46’er.”

Hiking is not only a great way to get exercise, it is wonderful for enjoying the beauty of nature. There is nothing that can ease a stressful day quite like a hike in the woods.
