Own a Cover from Elvis’s Graceland Christmas Station

Christmas was Elvis’s favorite time of the year because it gave him a chance to give to those he cared about.  Elvis was known to give large gifts such as cars to family and strangers.  For many years, he sent cards to his fans.  His staff sent out as many as 250,000 Christmas cards in 1961 alone.

Elvis also spared no expense when it came to decorating Graceland for Christmas.  He always put the decorations up early and left them up until after his January 8 birthday.  He had multiple Christmas trees, a large nativity scene, a custom decoration of Santa in a sleigh that said “Merry Christmas to All, Elvis,” and lined his driveway in blue lights.

After Elvis passed away, his family re-opened Graceland as a museum in 1982.  They’ve also kept his love of Christmas alive with annual events and festive decorations.  Graceland also has its own postal station, offering special pictorial cancels.  This neat cover features the 1989 Graceland Christmas Station cancel as well as the 1946 Tennessee statehood stamp and a 1987 flag and fireworks stamp.  Fun and festive – send for yours now.
