United States Issues New Semipostal Stamp
In 2017, the USPS announced a new 10-year Semipostal stamp program with the first in the series being the 2017 Alzheimer's stamp. The stamp has the same deisgn as the 2008 Alzheimer's Awarness stamp, but with the woman facing right on the new Semipostal instead of left. President Ronald Reagan declared November National Alzheimer's Disease Awarness Month in 1983, so it's only fitting the 2017 stamp's First Day of Issue was in November. Proceeds from the sale of the Alzheimer's Smipostal went to the U.S. Department of Health andn Human Services to fun Alzheimer's disease reearch.
