Inaugural Covers are those that are canceled on the same day a President is sworn into office.  Many early Inauguration Covers have a standard black bar cancel.  Covers issued more recently often have pictorial cancels or may simply say, “Inauguration Day.”

A fun part of Inaugural Covers is that they will always feature patriotic stamps.  These can include the American Flag, Statue of Liberty, the nation’s capital and more.  Inaugural covers are a different part of collecting you’ll enjoy discovering.
