Now’s a great time to add 10 classic US official stamps to your collection.  The first issue of Officials was only in use from 1873 to 1884 for “official” government purposes.  Not many stamps made it into collector hands, so it’s exciting to hunt them down and see them for yourself.

We all enjoy the thrill of the chase, but today we’ve done a little of the work for you.  You can get 10 different US Official stamps at a nice discount.  All of the stamps are unused with one or two small imperfections.  These tiny flaws aren’t unusual for stamps this old and don’t detract from their beauty or collectibility.  They do, however, allow you to enjoy significant savings – up to $1,000 off Mystic’s regular prices on individual stamps.  That’s more money in your pocket for future stamp purchases and collecting fun!

New Stamps Marked a Big Change in Government Policy –
You’ll Love Having That Important History in Your Collection

Before 1873, US government agencies had free “franking” privileges.  This allowed them to send mail without postage as long as the envelope bore an authorized signature.  However, some people took advantage of this policy and used their privileges on personal mail.  This led Congress to pass legislation on March 3, 1873, declaring a need for Official stamps.

The new Official stamps took their central designs from the expertly engraved “Banknote” stamps picturing portraits of important Americans.  The frames were changed for each department, along with the color of the stamps.

Initial printings of Official stamps were by the Continental Banknote Company on thin, hard paper.  However, in 1879, special printings were completed by the American Banknote Company on soft, porous paper.  These stamps were produced in much smaller quantities, making them more scarce than the originals.  I’m offering you the chance to get two of them today – #O102 and #O112.

Official Stamps Can Be Hard to Come By –
Don’t Miss Out on This Chance to Own Them

In the end, first-issue US Official stamps were in circulation from 1873 to 1884 – just over a decade.  Since they weren’t intended for private use, few made it into collectors’ hands.  Official stamps are even more of a challenge to find over 145 years later.  Take advantage of this opportunity to add 10 to your collection now – while they’re still available and affordable.
