 Own This Set of Silk Covers Commemorating Launch and Activation of Navy Satellite

This set of two Colorano Silk Covers marks the launch and activation of the MUOS-2 statellite.  Both covers have Cape Canaveral postmarks.  The satellite was launched from the Air Force Station in Cape Canaveral, Florida. MUOS-2 (Mobile User Objective System) was a US Navy moblie communications satellite launched into space on an Atlas 5 rocket.  Once it was placed in its orbit and its antenna refectors, the satellite allowed increased communications to US military personnel, especially in hard-to-reach places.  MUOS-2 became one of five satellites in this program.
