Own Limited-Edition Atlantis STS-125 Silk Covers

Produced by Colorano, this set of eight covers honors important moments from the Space Shuttle Atlantis’ 30th mission, STS-125.

These popular Colorano covers feature “silk” cachets that are produced through a special screening process and then bonded to the envelope.  Each cachet pictures a photo from the mission and is surrounded by a golden border.  The covers all bear patriotic US stamps and cancellations relating to events from the mission.  You can discover the story behind each one with the informative captions next to the cachets.

Launched on May 11, 2009, STS-125 was the fifth and final shuttle mission to the Hubble Telescope and the last solo flight of the Atlantis.    STS-125 brought two instruments to the Hubble Telescope and replaced several others.  The upgrades performed on this mission helped Hubble to see farther into the universe than ever before.  They also brought an IMAX camera with them to film their mission for the 2010 film, Hubble.
