12c horizontal pair and 1c and 3c singles from 1873 Continental Bank Note Printing tied by segmented cork cancels to cover from England to Argentina. "Washington Ga. Sep. 7" circular datestamp, red 1875 London transit stamp and red "New York 1.10 Sep. 11" credit datestamp on front. Buenos Aires receiving backstamp on reverse. Cover is missing a small part of the top flap, but still a very fine and colorful franking overpaying the 27c British Mail rate via England by 1c. (The rate had previously been 28c.)
