Own a Set of 10 United Nations First Day Covers

United Nations stamps were first issued in 1951.  All U.N. stamp issues are linked to the responsibilities, challenges, and achievements of the United Nations, which are international in scope.  U.N. stamps are unique in that they are the only stamps valid for postage which are not issued by a sovereign nation.

With one easy order, you can get 10 different United Nations First Day Covers, honoring a variety of of the organization's good works.  Selections vary, but the one I looked at featured stamps commemorating the International Year of Peace, World bank, and Sports for Peace.

First Day Covers are a fun area of collecting.  Each one features a stamp tied to the cover by a First Day of Issue Cancellation (many of these are pictorial cancels, which make them more interesting).  They also feature attractive cachet artwork and informational narratives.
