Elvis Presley continued his movie progression from rebel rocker to bachelor crooner in Girls! Girls! Girls!, his 11th film.  Only one hit song came from Girls! Girls! Girls! – but it was a big one!  “Return to Sender” reached No. 2 on Billboard’s “Hot 100” chart, and is regarded by many fans as one of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll’s all-time greatest hits.  The song spent 16 weeks on the charts.

“Return to Sender” wasn’t even originally planned for the movie.  It was written by Otis Blackwell and Winfield Scott.  When Colonel Tom Parker heard it, he knew right away it fit the film, and had it included in Girls! Girls! Girls!

Girls! Girls! Girls! has a few neat pieces of trivia.  It is the only Elvis feature movie to be nominated for a Golden Globe.  Also, in one scene between Laurel and Ross, posters for Blue Hawaii can be seen in the background.
