Mint Sheet Commemorates 400th Anniversary of King James Bible
In January 1604, King James I of England tasked 47 scholars with re-translating the Bible, as it was believed there were problems with some of the earlier translations. These scholars translated Greek, Hebrew and Latin for seven years before completing the task in 1611. Today the King James Bible is the most widely used and accepted English translation.
