As news of his arrival spread, celebrations erupted outside the hospital and all around the world. The bells of Westminster Abbey rang while landmarks were lit up with blue lights. Gun salutes were given in Bermuda, New Zealand, and Canada. Composer Paul Mealor, who wrote a song for Will and Kate’s wedding, composed a lullaby titled “Sleep On” for the new arrival.
