Can You Identify The Tanks of World War II?
Issued in 2013 by Mozambique, this neat mint stamp sheet pictures four notable tanks from World War II:
Neubaufahrzeug Nr. 3-5 – A series of experimental German tanks that participated in the Battle of Norway in 1940. They were multi-turreted and proved to be heavy and slow, leading them to be short-lived.
Fiat-Ansaldo M13/40 – An Italian tank used for the majority of the war. They were used extensively during fighting in North Africa, Greece, and Western Desert Campaign.
M4 Sherman – The most widely used medium tank among the US and western Allies during the war. It was quick and easy to produce, giving the Allies numerical superiority in North Africa and subsequent fighting.
T-34 Exterminator – A Soviet medium tank fitted with a 76.2 mm high-velocity tank gun. It quickly proved to be superior to the German tanks it fought and is considered the most effective, efficient, and influential tank design of the war.
