Travel to Grenada with This Affordable Stamp Packet In 1498, Columbus landed in Grenada – an island in the West Indies.  The island became a British colony in 1783.  In 1974 it became an independent state.  A leading manufacturer of spices, including nutmeg, Grenada also exports bananas, coconuts, limes, and sugar cane.  Scenic beaches and a lush countryside dotted with breathtaking gorges and waterfalls make this a hot spot for tourists.  Selections vary, but there were space, sports, Disney, Christian, and boat stamps in the packet I looked through.
