Mickey and Minnie Visit the Mosque of St. Sophia

In 1991 Bhutan issued several souvenir sheets picturing Mickey and his pals exploring some of the world's wonders.  The sheet offered here pictures Mickey and Minnie in front of the Mosque of St. Sophia in Constantinople, Turkey.  Built in 537, the building served as an Eastern Orthodox cathedral until 1453 when it was then used as a mosque.  Since 1935, it has been a museum.
