Issued in 1998, this Central Africa souvenir sheet was issued to honor famed Mickey comic strip artist Floyd Gottfredson.  Gottfredson was brought in as a short-term replacement on the Mickey daily comic strip in 1930, but would go on to illustrate the strip for 45 years.

The sheet also pictures Carl Barks, nicknamed "The Duck Man" for his long tenure drawing Donal Duck.  He also created Scrooge McDuck.  Also pictured is Malcolm Willits, a famed collector of Disney memorabilia. 

This souvenir sheet also commemorates Mickey's 70th birthday.  Since his debut in the short film Steamboat Willie in 1928, Mickey has become one of the most recognizable cartoon characters in the world.
