The New York stamps feature the Nepal flag, 1 rupee; the Bahrain flag, 100 fils; the Peru flag, 1 nuevo sol; and the Solomon Islands flag, 20 cents.  Also shown are the Paraguay flag, 1000 guaraníes; the Ethiopia flag, 25 cents; the Dominican Republic flag, 1 peso; and the Canada flag, 1 dollar.

The oldest-known flags of Bahrain were entirely red.  After signing a treaty with the United Kingdom in 1820, a white stripe was added to represent the truce.  The serrated edge varied over the years, being changed to five in 2002, to represent the five pillars of Islam: the Islamic creed, daily prayers, almsgiving, fasting during Ramadan, and the pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in a lifetime.
