The United Nations continues to make great strides in furthering the cause of human rights. Another World Conference on Human Rights took place in June, 1993, in Vienna, Austria. This is the fourth set in the five-year Human Rights Series.
The F.s. 0,50 Geneva stamp has Article Twenty-one, along with “The Oath of the Jeu de Paume,” by Jacques Louis David, France, provided by the National Museum of the Chateau de Versailles. The F.s. 0,90 stamp shows Article Twenty-two and “Rocking Chair I,” a sculpture by Henry Moore, United Kingdom, from the Collection of Mrs. Nelson A. Rockefeller. Moore believed in the United Nations and a gift of “Reclining Figure: Hand,” from the Henry Moore Foundation is displayed on the grounds of the U.N. Headquarters in New York.
