Namibia is a large territory, inhabited chiefly by Blacks, adjacent to South Africa. In 1920, the white South African government began to rule Namibia. This is the first issue of stamps to draw attention to the wish of the Namibians for freedom and independence and also their resistance to foreign occupation.
