2000 World Heritage
Established by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the World Heritage List strives to protect places around the world that have a significant cultural or natural heritage. This organization works to preserve these sites and ensure their continued prosperity for future generations.
Around the world, there are 500 sites currently included on the World Heritage List. Twenty-one of these sites belong to Spain. Six of these sites are showcased on the 2000 World Heritage set of six stamps.
