The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adapted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 10, 1948. It sets forth the basic civil, economic, political, and social rights and freedoms of every person. It states that all people are born free and equal in dignity and rights. Every year on December 10th, Human Rights Day is commemorated. This is the eleventh commemorative stamp set in the Human Rights series.
