With Mint Sancai-Glazed Horse Stamps

Sancai-glazed pottery was popularized during the Tang Dynasty, which lasted from about 618 to 906 A.D.  Sancai means "three colors" and refers to the three colors of glaze used to adorn the ceramic figures of the period.  This glaze was usually made with lead oxide and and quartz and then mixed with copper, iron, and manganese or cobalt to achieve green, yellow, and blue tints, respectively.

Now you can own this neat mint sheet of six Turks & Caicos stamps picturing some of the varieties of sancai-glazed horses crafted over 1,100 years ago.
