Disney Pals Ride the ALCAN Highway
In 1991 Bhutan issued several souvenir sheets picturing Mickey and his pals exploring some of the world's wonders. The sheet offered here pictures Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Mortie, and Ferdie driving along the ALCAN Highway. The road was constructed during World War II to connect the contiguous United States and Alaska. Passing through Canada, it was about 1,700 miles when it was completed, though reconstruction over the years has shortened it by a few hundred miles.
