Minted in 1991, this US Silver Dollar Proof coin was produced to honor the 38th anniversary of the end of the Korean War.  Produced especially for collectors, proof coins are struck twice to enhance the design and shine like a mirror.  

The front of the coin pictures a soldier climbing a hill above naval ships with two F-86 Sabres flying overhead.  The back of the coin pictures a map of Korea and bald eagle’s head.  A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this coin went to the Korean War Veterans Memorial Fund to help build the Korean War Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC, which opened in 1995.  This coin is a stirring and meaningful tribute that belongs in your collection.
