US #1434-35 – These stamps were issued as an attached pair to coincide with the flight of Apollo 15. As part of the mission, David Scott and James Irwin made history. On July 31, 1971, they became the first humans to drive on the Moon. These stamps also marked the 10th
anniversary of John Glenn’s Project Mercury flight.
 
US #1632 – Issued in honor of the seventh US International Philatelic Exhibition. Held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, it was the largest international philatelic event to take place in the United States up to that point.
