This set includes the first quarters issued in the America the Beautiful Quarters Program. The program featured a national park or other national site in one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, or US territories. It began in 2010, and five quarters were released each year until the program was completed in 2021.
This proof coin set was produced by the US mint in San Francisco using a process that brings out the beauty of each coin’s design. The dies and planchets (the metal disks that will become coins) are polished before the coin is struck. This gives the fields (blank areas) a mirrored look and the image a frosted effect.
