Elvis Presley is rightly called the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll.  He is credited with 54 certified gold singles – more than any other recording artist ever!  This coin highlights one of those songs that sold at least 500,000 copies.

Mystic has permanently bonded a vibrant image of Elvis to this uncirculated US Half Dollar.  The coin features an original photograph of Presley from his estate’s official archives and is officially licensed by Elvis Presley Enterprises.

Guitar Man

“Guitar Man,” written by Jerry Reed, had an important role in Elvis’ ‘68 Comeback Special.  Although technically a Christmas special, Elvis wanted the show to be different and unique.

Together, Elvis and NBC decided to do a semi-documentary about Elvis’ life.  “Guitar Man” was used as a link between scenes showing a young man’s struggles after he leaves home in search of a career.

The ‘68 Comeback Special was a turning point in Elvis’ career.  The December 3rd Special was NBC’s biggest hit of the year, viewed by 42 percent of television’s viewing audiences.  Not only the public loved it, the critics loved it too, giving it rave reviews.  A smashing success, it put Elvis back on top!
