Own a U.S. Silver Dollar Proof Coin Honoring Benjamin Franklin the Statesman
Only 2 Coins Available!

This coin was minted in 2006 to celebrate Benjamin Franklin’s 300th birthday.  The 90% silver coin pictures Franklin as an elder statesman with his signature on the front.  The back of the coin pictures a 1776 Continental Dollar, which Benjamin Franklin is credited with designing.  The 1776 coin pictured a sun shining down on a sun dial next to “Fugio” (Latin for “I flee”).  It also includes the inscription, “Mind Your Business,” seemingly stating, “Time flies, so mind your business.”  Surcharges from the sale of the Franklin silver dollar went to the Benjamin Franklin Tercentenary Commission.

Franklin was the only person to sign all four of the key documents in United States history: the Declaration of Independence, the Treaty of Alliance with France, the Treaty of Paris with Great Britain, and the Constitution of the United States.  As a statesman, he stands among the top rank of the people who built our nation.

What’s a proof coin?  Proofs are the finest coins produced by the US Mint.  The proof blanks are specially treated and hand-polished and cleaned so the images are struck perfectly.  They’re also struck at least twice, which results in a frosted and highly-detailed design and mirror-like background.  You’ll want to see this coin in-person to appreciate all the fine details.  It’ll make a great addition to your collection – order now.
