The eighth installment of the Endangered Species series, which began in 1993, was issued April 6, 2000. These 12 stamps feature an international array of flora and fauna whose existence is threatened.

 

Pictured on the S 7 stamps are the leopard, white or European spoonbill, killer whale, and Chilean huemal. Cattle grazing and logging have resulted in the decline of the huemal population. Small numbers of the deer are found in Chile and Argentina.
