Designed by noted wildlife artist Chuck Ripper, these colorful birds flew into post offices in mid-June. In addition to their unique form of flight, which allows them to hover in mid-air, their iridescent feathers make them stand out in the avian world.  John James Audubon fittingly called them “glittering fragments of the rainbow.”
