1978-80 Regular Issue Set Features “Midget Size” Stamp
This set of 10 stamps features the Indian Head, American eagle, medallion roses, and windmills stamps.
In an effort to reduce production costs, the U.S. Postal Service designed U.S. #1734, picturing the 1877 Indian Head Penny, at a smaller size, so they could print 150 stamps per pane rather than the usual 100. The smaller size never caught on with the public.
