The 1978 13 cent CAPEX Wildlife souvenir sheet was issued on June 10, 1978, in Toronto, Canada. The United States Postal Service released this sheet to mark the Canadian International Philatelic Exhibition, a major stamp show held that year in Toronto. This issue holds a unique place in postal history because it was the first United States souvenir sheet ever released outside the country, with its first day of issue ceremony taking place on Canadian soil instead of American soil.

The sheet contains eight different 13 cent stamps arranged together on a single pane, each showing an animal or bird found along the border shared by the United States and Canada. The top row features a cardinal, a mallard, a Canada goose, and a blue jay. The bottom row shows a moose, a chipmunk, a red fox, and a raccoon. A green band runs across the center of the sheet with the exhibition title in English and French, along with the signature of the Postmaster General of the United States. A maple leaf branch appears along the left edge, tying the design to the Canadian host city.
