Portugal Scott #1918-1923 is the complete set of six souvenir sheets issued by Portugal in 1992 as part of the landmark four-nation joint issue commemorating the 500th anniversary of Columbus's voyage to the Americas. Titled "As Viagens de Colombo" — The Voyages of Columbus — the Portuguese sheets share the same six compositions as their American, Italian, and Spanish counterparts, all reproducing the sixteen iconic designs from the 1893 U.S. Columbian Exposition stamps. The sheets carry the EUROPA emblem, reflecting Portugal's participation in the European postal community, and are denominated at 260 escudos. Like all four nations' sets, the Portuguese sheets were available only between May 22 and September 27, 1992, after which remaining stocks were destroyed.

Portugal's set has a distinct visual character that sets it apart from the other three nations' issues. Rather than presenting all stamps as perforated, Portugal's sheets include only one perforated stamp per sheet — the others appear as imperforate stamp images within the souvenir sheet design. The backgrounds feature dramatic engraved illustrations depicting scenes from Columbus's life, with Portuguese captions identifying each subject: "Colombo Avistando Terra" (Columbus Sighting Land), "A Armada de Colombo" (Columbus's Fleet), "Colombo na Rabida," "Colombo em La Rabida," and others. The sixth sheet, as with all four nations' sets, is devoted to the grand $5 Columbian portrait design of Columbus himself.

The text panel on the sixth sheet, printed in Portuguese, explains the significance of the joint issue — noting that Italy, Portugal, Spain, and the United States, the countries most closely linked to Columbus and his achievement, joined together to reproduce the stamps launched by the United States in 1893, considered the first commemorative stamps of that country. Together with the Italian, Spanish, and U.S. sets, Portugal #1918-1923 forms part of one of the most ambitious collaborative philatelic projects ever undertaken, and the complete four-nation set of 24 souvenir sheets remains a showpiece of any collection focused on exploration, European history, or joint issues.
