In this error pane, the black ink is missing. In the first stamp, the cancel and postmark did not print and the AMERPEX cancel beneath the reproduction of the Presidents miniature sheet is missing.

The stamp booklets were issued to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the American Philatelic Society.  This was the first time that U.S. commemoratives were ever issued in booklet form.  It is also interesting to note that this illustrates the 1986 Presidents Miniature Sheets.  This was the first time that a U.S. stamp pictured another U.S. stamp that had not been issued.
