The historic Columbian covers were sent out on consecutive days from the Stafford National Bank of Dover, New Hampshire, to the National Exchange Bank in Boston.  The markings and postmarks on the covers tell their journey through the US mail.  The covers were sent beginning on February 5th and ending on February 9, 1894.  Each includes a purple registered mail straight-line marking, red registered mail record number plus original Stafford National Bank red wax seal on the reverse.  America’s first commemoratives on cover are real pieces of both American and postal history.
