Charles E. Bohlen (1907-1974) is one of six distinguished American diplomats pictured on a 2006 stamp sheet.
Charles “Chip” Bohlen was an expert on the Soviet Union. He was fluent in Russian and served as interpreter for Presidents Franklin Roosevelt and Harry Truman during Conferences that followed World War II.
