The Huntington, known for its library and impressive art collection, is also home to 120 acres of botanical gardens.  These consist of a number of specialized gardens.  These consist of a number of specialized gardens including:  Australian, Children’s, Desert, Herb, Japanese, Palm, Rose, Shakespeare, and Chinese gardens.  Several of these are some of the finest examples of these types of gardens in the world, or the best outside their country of origin.

There are a number of other specialty gardens in The Huntington, including the Rose Hills Foundation Conservatory for Botanical Science.  It contains The Huntington’s large tropical plant collection and carnivorous plants wing.  One of the most famous species found here is Amorphophallus titanium, commonly known as the “corpse flower.”  This massive plant is quite rare and can go up to 10 years without blooming.

With stunning gardens to explore, a library full of rare books, and a museum full of priceless art, it’s no wonder The Huntington draw over half-a-million visitors every year.
