Constitution Bicentennial Cover Highlights Virginia’s Amendment Proposal
Own this cover marking the bicentennial of the US Constitution, the document that framed America’s government. It pictures patriot Patrick Henry, who was against ratifying the Constitution and wanted to include amendments before it was ratified. He agreed to work with George Mason on a proposed bill of rights and other amendments. On June 27, 1788, they presented 40 amendments to the Virginia delegation to be delivered to the US Congress.
