Own Limited-Edition Discovery STS-131 Silk Covers
Produced by Colorano, this set of six covers honors important moments from the 38th mission of the Space Shuttle Discovery, STS-131.
These popular Colorano covers feature “silk” cachets that are produced through a special screening process and then bonded to the envelope. Each cachet pictures a photo from the mission and is surrounded by a golden border. The covers all bear patriotic US stamps and cancellations relating to events from the mission. You can discover the story behind each one with the informative captions next to the cachets.
Launched on April 5, 2010, the primary mission of STS-131 was to deliver a Multi-Purpose Logistics Module to the International Space Station. This was the second to last flight of Discovery, and its longest. STS-131 was the first mission to fly with two Japanese astronauts. After 15 days in space, the space shuttle landed safely on April 20.
