 Cover Honors Norman Rockwell and Teachers

This cover is part of the Norman Rockwell Commemorative Cover Collection.   It includes stamp #1463, issued to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the National Parent Teacher Association.  The cachet shows one of Rockwell's paintings, "First Day of School."  Both the stamp and Rockwell's work reflect the importance of teachers.  The cover collection was produced in 1978 and postmarked in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, where Rockwell lived and worked for over 20 years.
