 Cover Honors Norman Rockwell and Religion

This cover is part of the Norman Rockwell Commemorative Cover Collection.   It includes stamp #1099, Religious Freedom in America  The stamp, was issued in honor of the 300th anniversary of the "Flushing Remonstrance," a key event in the history of religious freedom in America.  The cachet shows one of Rockwell's paintings, "Easter Morning." The painting first appeared in The Saturday Evening Post in 1959.  The cover collection was produced in 1978 and postmarked in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, where Rockwell lived and worked for over 20 years.
