# AC215 - 05/21/1992, USA, Lindbergh Crate Restoration Project
Cover Honors Artifact from Lindbergh’s Trans-Atlantic Flight
On May 21, 1927, Charles Lindbergh landed his plane, the Spirit of St. Louis, in Paris, France after completing the world’s first non-stop flight across the Atlantic Ocean. Lindbergh returned by ship, with his plane packed into two shipping crates. When Lindbergh was done with the crates, one of them was converted into a summer cottage in New Hampshire. In 1990, the crate was sold and moved to Canaan, Maine. Soon after, the owner began restoring the crate with the hope of teaching others about Lindbergh’s historic flight. Now you can own this cover marking the 65th anniversary of Lindbergh’s flight and raising awareness about the crate restoration project.
