This set includes mint coins issued from the Philadelphia and Denver mint.  The 12 coins are sealed in two protective plastic sleeves.  One sleeve has coins from the Denver Mint, while the other sleeve contains coins from the Philadelphia Mint.

Mint sets are produced by the US Mint for the enjoyment of coin collectors.  The planchets (blank metal disks that are struck to produce coins) are burnished before being hand loaded into the coining press.  They are then placed in special packaging to keep them in uncirculated condition.  Each set contains one coin of each denomination and design from each mint that produced coins that year.  These mint sets are produced for only one year, so the supply is limited.
