$13.95

Choose Option:

Elvis Presley is rightly called the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll.  He is credited with 54 certified gold singles – more than any other recording artist ever!  This coin highlights one of those songs that sold at least 500,000 copies.

Mystic has permanently bonded a vibrant image of Elvis to this uncirculated US Half Dollar.  The coin features an original photograph of Presley from his estate’s official archives and is officially licensed by Elvis Presley Enterprises.

That’s When Your Heartaches Begin

Elvis brought his guitar into Sun Records Studio on a hot August day to cut an acetate record (similar to a demo record).  He paid $3.25 and played “My Happiness” and “That’s When Your Heartaches Begin.”  Keisker, a former radio show host, turned on the studio tape machine halfway through “My Happiness.”  She didn’t get all of that song, but did record all of “That’s When Your Heartaches Begin.”  She also got Elvis’ phone number.  This was Elvis Presley’s big break.

“That’s When Your Heartaches Begin” reportedly was meant as a birthday gift for his mother, Gladys.  Despite being the song that got him noticed, Elvis didn’t record it for release until March of 1957.  It was featured on the flip side to “All Shook Up,” one of his most famous songs.  “That’s When Your Heartaches Begin” spent seven weeks on the charts, peaking at number 58 on the Billboard Hot 100.  It was written by William J. Raskin, and previously performed by The Ink Spots.
