2022-24 American Women Quarters, Philadelphia Mint, Set of 15

The American Women Quarters Program is a series from the U.S. Mint honoring women who made significant contributions to American history in various fields, including civil rights, politics, science, arts, and more.

The obverse design features a right-facing portrait of George Washington, designed by Laura Gardin Fraser (originally created in 1931 for the Washington quarter but not used at the time).

Each reverse design features a different woman with designs reflecting their achievements or legacy.

Coins included in this set honor these women:

3. Wilma Mankiller – First female Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation.

7. Edith Kanaka‘ole – Native Hawaiian composer, dancer, and cultural educator.

10. Maria Tallchief – America’s first major prima ballerina of Native heritage.
