Own Authentic World War I Cover – With Letter Inside!

This is your chance to get a World War I-era letter and envelope that passed through US Navy censors before arriving at its destination.  This was common practice during the war to prevent important information like troop movements from falling into the hands of the enemy.  However, it was sometimes used for more controversial reasons such as removing mentions of the hardships of war.  Censorship was carried out by leaving a hole in the letter or crossing information out with black ink.  Soldiers were also taught to self-censor, making one wonder how truthful they were able to be in their letters home.

When you order today, the cover and included correspondence will vary, but each will have gone through the censoring process.  Some may have nothing crossed out, while others might.  Each is over 100 years old, so you may see some evidence of wear and tear.  You may see a US or foreign cover.  All this only adds to your collecting fun.  You'll love discovering all the neat details of your cover.  We only have a handful available, so order now to avoid missing out!
