This is your chance to get a World War I-era cover and post card that passed through US Navy censors before arriving at its destination. This was common practice during the war to prevent important information like troop movements from falling into the hands of the enemy. However, it was sometimes used for more controversial reasons such as removing mentions of the hardships of war. Censorship was carried out by leaving a hole in the letter or crossing information out with black ink. Soldiers were also taught to self-censor, making one wonder how truthful they were able to be in their letters home.
